Parental Residence Visa – Made Easy

The PRV category opened again on 12th October 2022 and the two-stage process involving the ballot system for Expressions of Interest

The entire application process for a Parental Residence Visa is complex. It is full of fishhooks, and the process will frustrate some applicants and their sponsors. Some applicants may experience anger over specific requirements and the time the entire process will take. However, at least the PRV category is open again and up, to likely 2500 visas, in this category will be granted each year.

A lengthy process an “Expression of Interest” followed by a ballot system where a successful person(s) gets invited to apply for residence.

The PRV category opened again on 12th October 2022 and the two-stage process involving the ballot system for Expressions of Interest, already lodged, will begin again on 14th November 2022. New applicants will be invited to apply for residence only after the backlog of applications has been dealt with over the next 8 to 10 months.

There is no rush to submit an Expression of Interest as the backlog of existing applications must first be cleared to make way for new applicants.

Atesh Narayan has brought himself up to date with the new arrangements and will be pleased to take appointments about Parental Residence Visas as required by his valued clients. Atesh is armed with a list of important points that can be expanded for a fuller explanation during an interview.

Best Wishes to all those with a genuine interest in reuniting parents with families based here in New Zealand.
