- Full investment required before a resident visa is granted.
- Introduction of “on-call” investments for managed funds.
- Flexible Time Requirements in NZ:
- Growth: 21 days over 3 years.
- Balanced: 105 days over 5 years, with reductions for higher investments.
- Other Updates:
- English language requirements removed.
- Faster investment timelines: 6 months to transfer and invest (with possible 6-month extension).
- One-time option to switch between categories.
- Dependent children born during the investment term may qualify for residency.
Transition Options for Existing Applicants:
- Applicants can switch to the new visa settings until 31 May 2025.
- Fees waived for eligible transitions.
- Investor 1 & 2 applicants must reapply and meet new requirements.
