The Parental Residence Visa category opened again on 12th October 2022, and the two-stage process involving the ballot system for Expressions of Interest (EOI), already lodged, will begin again on 14th November 2022. New applicants for the NZ elderly parent visa will be invited to apply for residence only after the backlog of applications has been dealt with over the next 8 to 10 months.
There is no rush to submit an Expression of Interest as the backlog of existing applications must first be cleared to make way for new applicants for the parent resident visa NZ.
